Trump on the brink of offering UK ‘tariff free trade deal’ says ambassador

Donald Trump is ready to offer the UK a ‘zero tariff’ trade deal after Brexit, it has been claimed.

Woody Johnson, the U.S. ambassador in London, praised the ‘special relationship’ and said the President wanted a ‘quick deal’ between the two countries.

The claim comes in spite of a Cabinet row this week after a briefing paper indicated that the UK’s plans for Brexit could hamper a transatlantic deal.
